As we see markets and needs moving, Hyperpro develops steering dampers not only for sport bikes, but for naked and all road bikes also. These bikes show an uncomfortable steering movement at “higher” speeds. This can be solved by simply installing a Hyperpro steering damper. The Hyperpro steering dampers have proven for years that they give great support to the rider.

Hyperpro developed a steering damper mounting kit for the R1200GS LC with model year 2013. Installing a steering damper on this bike gives the GS-rider the safety and comfort he deserves. As this 2013 model is facing some uncomfortable effects, a steering damper seems like a basic need. Even more now BMW is mounting a steering damper as an original part from 2014 on.

Next to that we developped the steering damper as an upgrade for the R1200GS 2014 models to replace the OEM damper. This conversion gives better stability on the R1200GS 2014 than the original steering damper. For this Touring and Travel bike we advise to use a CSC damper.

A steering damper exists of two parts. The first part is a genius steering damper with adjustable damping in 22 clicks. Hyperpro offers this in a version with linear (CSC) damping behavior and in a version with a unique progressive (RSC) damping behavior, which reacts progressive on damping demands. The second part is the mounting kit, available in gold and black anodized, lightweight aluminum. This mounting kit is developed to meet the highest demands both on the road and on the off road track.

Congratulations Valerie with achieving this record!

Hyperpro supports Valerie Thompson, with products on her recordbike, BMW S1000RR

Two-Time Land Speed Record Holder Sets Personal Best Top Speed of 209.5 mph

(Scottsdale, AZ) – June 8, 2012 – Valerie Thompson, owner/driver of the Valerie Thompson Land Speed Racing Team, joined an elite group of “Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club” members at this premier event when she piloted her Martech Services Company BMW to a top speed of 209.5 mph over the new 1.5-mile course on June 2 in Mojave California, reportedly making it the world’s fastest production BMW S1000RR. Teammate Bob Sellers recorded a top speed of 219.5 mph on his Suzuki Hayabusa.

“Co-Crew Chiefs Ray Garcia and Bob Sellers were key in setting up my BMW at the Mojave Magnum Speed Trials. Our bike was really flying,” said Thompson. “We achieved one of the team objectives by gaining entry into the ‘Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club’. My next goal is to become a member of the famed ‘200 MPH Club’ at the Bonneville Salt Flats,” added Thompson.

“I’m honored to help Valerie’s independent team in achieving this accomplishment. Valerie and her team have worked hard with limited resources to gain optimal results,” said Sellers. “Valerie’s driving was ‘top notch’ and the BMW really responded to our special set up for this competition. I can’t imagine what we could accomplish with a little more sponsorship funding,” added Sellers.

The premiere running of Mojave Magnum was held at the Air & Space Port in Mojave California. The venue is famous for it’s Mojave Mile events, a standing start one-mile speed trial. The Mojave Magnum event was the first time competitors could race a section of runway exactly one and a half miles in length.

Valerie Thompson Background

Thompson is owner/driver of the Valerie Thompson Land Speed Racing Motorcycle Team. She currently holds two land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats. In addition to land speed racing, Thompson has competed in the All Harley Drag Racing Association & National Hot Rod Association series. Thompson was recently selected to test pilot the North American Eagle Supersonic Speed Challenger designed to eclipse the 512 mph land speed record set by Kitty O’Neil in 1976. If successful, Thompson will become the “World’s Fastest Female.” Thompson’s sponsors include Martech Services Company – maker of quality air breathing products, La-Man Corporation, CTEK Battery Chargers, Troon Enterprises, JEGS, Worldwide Bearings, GO AZ Motorcycles of Scottsdale, Swisstrax, Stand Up Photos, Vortex Racing, Hyperpro, and ZipFizz Healthy Energy Drinks.

Professional street freeriders “REDLINE” Jesse Toler and “ROWDY” Rodney Sargent are currently “unofficial” world record holders for longest distance endo on a motorcycle. (a wheelie on the frontwheel)

Rodney has been 1,006 ft on the front wheel and Jesse has been 1,148 ft. Together they have won and podium finished in all 7 major Pro Long Distance Endo competitions in the U.S in 2011. For 2012 Rodney was already placed 3rd at the first 2 Pro Long Endo competitions on his back up bike, which is a 2004 Kawasaki 636 ZX-6R. This is the purpose for the GSX-R 1000 we are building now; to win every event and break records.

We will be attempting to break a Guinness Book World record for speed AND distance on the front wheel of both of these motorcycles this fall.
The goal now is to run (2) Hyperpro’s on each bike, one in the stock GSX-R mounting location and the other up top on the Upper triple clamp so head shake is eliminated completely. We will be traveling at speeds over 140mph on the front wheel, for our goal of 1,320ft (1/4 mile).

We met both Jesse and Rodney at the Dealerexpo in Indianapolis and are happy to support the guys with their goals. as Rodney says “But this is why we traveled to Indy, to meet and talk about the HyperPro products on our bikes. We truly believe the product to be far superior to all of the rest of the dampers on the market. We want to set World Records and we want to do it using Hyperpro dampers.”

Hyperpro Steering dampers – Safety and Control

Experienced riders know the value of a quality steering damper. Tank slappers and steering vibrations are intercepted by the damper, so you have a bike that steers the way you’re used to and reacts the way you’d hope for in unexpected circumstances.

The Progressive Hyperpro RSC (Reactive Safety Control) steering damper

is revolutionary compared to the linear model. Due to speed-sensitive damping, sharp blows are intercepted more effectively, and will not affect steering behavior at lower speed.

Of course, this is also a typical Hyperpro product: a product of high quality that never fails, even when used intensively year after year. Additionally, the progressive damper is highly adjustable to the individual needs of the rider with its 22 positions “clicks”.

Depending on length, the RSC damper is available in four or five colours for a wide range of models.

CSC = Linear Damping

HyperproHyperpro is best known for its progressive steering dampers. A number of customers still prefers the linear type damper. For that reason we have further developed this steering damper and are still able to offer this conventional type steering damper.

In order to keep the damper light in weight and strong, the CSC damper is also made of CNC machined billet aluminium parts and high-grade aluminium alloy is used. This damper is fully rebuildable, and provides a substantial upgrade to OEM dampers, or is excellent to add to a bike that does not have a steering damper.

press release of dragstar team sponsored by Hyperpro with steering damper and special prepared fork

The Gulf Oil – Grand Prix Originals – Top Fuel Bike made a dream debut on the notoriously tricky Kunmadaras track in Hungary when the 1500 horsepower machine (managed by multiple championship winners King Racing) stunned many with an unbelievable 6.57 second run at over 200 mph on only its 3rd ever run on track despite very conservative power settings.

After qualifying on pole, British rider Ian King set low elapsed time and high terminal speed of all bikes in competition on his way to defeating Canadian rider Nate Gagnon and taking the early championship points lead.

The former Soviet Nuclear Bomber airfield track is known to lack the grip required by the more powerful machines so this performance bodes well for the team’s next race and UK debut on one of the fastest tracks in Europe, Santa Pod Raceway on the 27th – 30th May.
